An article on Ben Douglas in The Evening Standard once proclaimed “If you are photographed with this man you must be famous” and this perfectly sums up the man who Mel B calls “the go to guy in London”. For over 20 years Ben has been the man about town on the UK and USA celebrity scene as both a showbiz journalist interviewing the rich and famous, as well as advising them as publicist.
Over his career Ben has spent a night with Whitney Houston, grilled Margaret Thatcher’s bodyguard Barry Strevens and been accosted by Michael Douglas, breaking exclusives for Hello Magazine, OK!, The Daily Mail and Evening Standard. He’s reported from the Oscars and is never short of a celebrity anecdote from Madonna and Naomi Campbell to Helen Mirren and Elton John.
As a publicist Ben spent years working for highly regarded Protocol Multi-Media before setting up Fusion Communications. In this role he was instrumental in creating the WAG phenomenon, brokered the first joint interview with Emma Bunton and boyfriend Jade, launched a collection of diamond jewelry with The Ritz, and has organised charity golf events with royalty.
Away from the glitz and glamour, Ben set up a performing arts school, has been an ambassador for the British Luxury Council, and is a passionate campaigner for interracial adoption having been brought up by a white family from an early age.
