Gemma Garrett is a professional TV makeup artist, presenter and former Miss Great Britain and Miss Ulster title holder.
Gemma’s career in the beauty industry started when she entered and won the Miss Ulster contest in 2000. Onwards from this success, she continued to work in the beauty pagent industry and by 2008 earned Britain’s longest-running beauty pageant title, Miss Great Britain.
Gemma then launched her successful TV and film makeup artist career, which initially began through her performance in on-screen roles across globally successful film & TV shows, in which she appeared alongside BAFTA & Academy award winners. These include Direct Contact (2009) and Assassin (2015) with Danny Dyer. Gemma has also gained prominence in TV as a presenter, with her vast beauty pagent experience, in 2017 she presented BBC NI’s ‘Beauty Queen and Single – RTS NI Entertainment Award’ and in 2022, she presented BBC THREE’s ‘Beauty Queen and Single’.
Gemma has provided makeup and hair for main cast members in productions including BBC ONE’s ‘Hope Street’, ITV’s ‘Tom Jones’, feature film ‘The Last Rifle Man’ and short film ‘Curers’. Gemma has also provided hair and makeup services for Belfast Fashion Week, Film Festivals, TV Commercials, Magazines, Travel and Expedition Campaigns, and Ideal World Shopping. Across her body of work, Gemma is passionate about the use of cruelty-free skincare and make up and continues to work with brands who align with these values.
In the world of Sport, Gemma is the official face of the Formula One British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
Most recently, Gemma was chosen to host the Inspiration Woman of the Year Awards 2023 by Local Women Magazine in Belfast, to celebrate the contribution women make in Northern Ireland each and every day.
